Anxiety Therapy
Is anxiety impacting your ability to rest and enjoy life?
Do you find yourself constantly worrying or overwhelmed?
Do you struggle with perfectionism or a sense of overcontrol in life?
Maybe sometimes you’re fine, but at other moments you’re gripped by a heart pounding, light headed, nauseous panic attack?
Maybe it feels like your fears are big and nothing is in control. Maybe you don’t notice the emotions, but the physical signs are loud like trouble sleeping, changes in your diet or digestion, chest pains, or mental fog. Whatever it is, anxiety does not feel good! It always seems to show up at the worst possible moment, and can start to make small decisions, events, or our relationships so overwhelming that we either begin to avoid them, or overcontrol inside of them.
If you’re looking for relief, therapy is a great next step as we help you make sense of the anxiety, shrink the panic, and reclaim your sense of agency, confidence, and balance again.

Types of Anxiety
Anxiety makes sense in context.
Anxiety was designed to be a healthy, wired in response that enables you to move and become motivated when facing threats and challenges. In the short term, this emotion can be great because anxiety signals your heart and lungs to increase blood and oxygen flow, which in turn allows your brain to respond quickly and effectively to intense situations. But when this fight-or-flight response becomes everyday, life just feels stressful and exhausting.
It’s estimated that over 31% of adults in the United States will suffer from anxiety in their lifetime.
Anxiety goes beyond stress because it does not soften or go away easily. In fact, it can feel as if anxiety and worry get worse overtime!
Symptoms of anxiety can interfere with everyday life. You may feel emotions of immense overwhelm, dread, or panic. Perhaps you feel preoccupied with scary, unwanted thoughts; or try to avoid certain people, situations, or things because they cause too much distress.
You’ve probably experienced uncomfortable physical symptoms like fatigue, headaches, chronic pain, muscle tension, irritability, hot flashes, indigestion, or sweating.
Counseling Can Help You Get Stable, Lasting Change.
We know you’ve probably tried it all - breathing, praying, exercising, journaling, listening to podcasts…that’s part of what makes anxiety so tough. Your best attempts to manage it aren’t working! Underneath it all you’re tired and need help. This doesn’t mean you’re failing. We all need help in life, and aren’t wired to do this alone.
At Sacred Ground Psychotherapy, we can help you make important connections regarding what fuels your anxiety, bring order to your experiences, and get the deep and lasting change you’re looking for.
